Frequently Asked Questions
Do I need a referral for private home physiotherapy or OT?
No, you do not need a GP referral. You can contact Medella directly to arrange a private home visit for physiotherapy or occupational therapy immediately. We can communicate with your GP later if you wish.
What is the difference between Home Physio and Occupational Therapy?
Physiotherapy typically focuses on mobility, strength, balance, and physical function (e.g., walking after a fall). Occupational Therapy (OT) focuses on daily living skills, home adaptations, and equipment to help you live independently. We often combine both for the best results.
Which areas do you visit?
We provide home visits across Hampshire, Dorset, and Wiltshire. Our team covers Ringwood, Bournemouth, Poole, Christchurch, Ferndown, Wimborne, Verwood, Salisbury, Southampton, and the New Forest.
Are your therapists qualified and registered?
Yes. All Medella therapists are registered with the Health and Care Professions Council (HCPC). Our physiotherapists are members of the Chartered Society of Physiotherapy (CSP), and our OTs are members of the Royal College of Occupational Therapists (RCOT). All staff are Enhanced DBS checked.
