"We have had exceptional support from Seena and Naomi caring for our 90 year old Dad. The weekly sessions have enabled Dad to stay in his own home and be independent. Recently following a fall the team rallied around and got additional support from Rapid Response to which we are amazed and thankful. Highly recommended every step of the way. Thank you to you all."

Why Choose Home Visits in Fordingbridge?
Fordingbridge is a beautiful riverside market town on the edge of the New Forest, but the rural location means that clinic-based physiotherapy can involve a significant journey — often to Salisbury or Ringwood. For older adults recovering from surgery, illness, or a fall, travelling for appointments can be exhausting. Our home visit service brings expert therapy to your door, removing the stress of travel.
Treatment in Your Real Environment
We assess and treat you in your own home — practising on your stairs, getting in and out of your chair, and using your bathroom. This makes therapy immediately relevant.
Ideal for Rural Locations
If you live in one of the villages around Fordingbridge — Alderholt, Damerham, or Godshill — home visits are especially valuable. No need to arrange transport or wait for community services.
Family Can Be Involved
Home visits mean family members or carers can easily join sessions, learn exercises, and understand how to support recovery between appointments.

A rural Avon Valley town with an older-than-average community
Fordingbridge sits on the north-western edge of the New Forest, one of the oldest districts in the South East. Nearly a third of people across the district are aged 65 or over, and the median age has climbed to 51 – a community where staying steady on your feet, recovering well and keeping your independence matter to a great many households.
Getting to an appointment is the harder part here. The town lost its railway back in 1964, bus services across the SP6 villages – Sandleheath, Godshill, Breamore, Damerham and Alderholt among them – are sparse, and Salisbury or Bournemouth is a real journey for anyone who no longer drives. After a fall, an operation or a spell in hospital, that trip can be tiring before the therapy has even started.
Home visits take the journey out of it entirely. We bring the assessment and the rehabilitation to your own front room, so the work happens on your stairs, in your chair and along the paths you actually walk each day.

Coming home after a hospital stay in SP6
Because Fordingbridge sits where Hampshire, Wiltshire and Dorset meet, there is no single hospital everyone returns from. Depending on where you live and how you were admitted, that might be Salisbury District Hospital to the north or, for households on the Dorset side, the Royal Bournemouth Hospital – so it is worth checking which one applies to you.
Whichever hospital you leave, the NHS community rehabilitation and reablement that follow are arranged through your registered GP – for most SP6 residents that means Hampshire & Isle of Wight Healthcare NHS Foundation Trust and Hampshire County Council. That support is typically time-limited, usually to around six weeks (NICE NG74). We set out how the local route works in more detail on our New Forest pathway page.
Our role is to carry on once that window closes – or to add extra sessions alongside it – rebuilding strength and mobility at home for as long as it genuinely helps, working with any NHS or council care already in place. Our hospital discharge guide for families sets out what to prepare before the day itself.
