"A very professional service. I had a fall and fractured my hip bone which required major surgery. My therapist is kind and has helped me make good progress with the exercises and my walking has really improved. I shall continue to use their service to help my recovery."

Why Choose Home Visits in Highcliffe?
Highcliffe-on-Sea is a popular coastal village with a large retirement community. While the area offers a peaceful quality of life, getting to clinic appointments isn't always easy — especially after surgery, a hospital stay, or when mobility is limited. Our home visit service removes the stress of travel so you can focus entirely on your recovery.
Treatment in Your Real Environment
We assess and treat you in your own home — practising on your stairs, getting in and out of your chair, and using your bathroom. This makes therapy immediately relevant.
No Waiting Lists
As a private practice, there's no waiting list. Most Highcliffe patients are seen within days of their first call — essential when you've just left hospital.
Family Can Be Involved
Home visits mean family members or carers can easily join sessions, learn exercises, and understand how to support recovery between appointments.

Independent reviews from families we have helped. Read all 31 reviews.
"My elderly Mother was given a Physiotherapy Assessment by Catherine Case of Medella Home Physio & OT following a series of falls at home. Catherine was immediately able to diagnose the source of my Mother's pain and vulnerability as being a worn out hip. Whilst waiting for Hip Surgery, Catherine reduced my Mother's pain levels and increased her mobility with regular Physiotherapy Exercises, showing excellent communication and motivation skills. Catherine made a huge improvement to the quality of my Mother's Life during her last 18 months and I cannot thank her enough. Also big thank you to Naomi at MEDELLA for organizing everything so efficiently."

One of England's Oldest Stretches of Coast
Highcliffe sits at the eastern edge of the Bournemouth, Christchurch and Poole area and shares Christchurch's notably older age profile — well above the BCP average of about one in five aged 65 or over (21.6%, ONS Census 2021) and the England figure of 18.4%. It is a settled, largely retired clifftop community where many older adults intend to stay in their own homes.
That can make getting to appointments harder than it looks. The area's acute hospital, the Royal Bournemouth, sits on the far western side of the conurbation, a real distance from Highcliffe and Walkford by road or bus. For an older adult recovering from a fall, surgery or a stroke, the journey alone can be exhausting — which is exactly where a home visit helps.
Continuing Your Recovery After Hospital
Highcliffe's acute hospital is the Royal Bournemouth (University Hospitals Dorset). Once you are home, NHS community rehabilitation is provided by Dorset HealthCare, with short-term reablement from BCP Council — typically time-limited to around six weeks (NICE NG74). Because Highcliffe shares the Christchurch NHS pathway, our Christchurch page sets out the local hospitals and community services in full.
When that NHS support comes to an end but recovery is still ongoing, we continue the work at home — unhurried physiotherapy and occupational therapy for as long as it is helping. Our guide to what happens after a parent has a fall is a practical place to start.
