Respiratory Physiotherapy & COPD Support at Home
Are you struggling to catch your breath?
Living with a lung condition can be frightening. The fear of breathlessness often leads to doing less, which unfortunately weakens the muscles and makes breathing even harder.
Whether you are managing COPD, Bronchiectasis, or recovering from a Chest Infection, you do not have to struggle alone. Our specialist respiratory physiotherapy service comes to you, helping you manage your symptoms, clear your chest, and regain your confidence in the comfort of your own home.
Conditions We Treat at Home
COPD & Emphysema
Practical techniques to manage breathlessness, conserve energy, and improve your daily tolerance for activity.
Bronchiectasis & Infections
Specialist clearance techniques to remove phlegm/secretions from the chest and reduce the risk of hospital admission.
Breathing Pattern Disorders
Retraining your breathing rhythm to reduce hyperventilation, anxiety, and chronic coughing.
How Respiratory Physiotherapy Helps
We don’t just “listen to your chest.” We provide active treatments designed to improve your quality of life immediately.
- Secretion Clearance: We teach you the “Active Cycle of Breathing Techniques” (ACBT) and positioning strategies to help you clear phlegm effectively and comfortably.
- Breathlessness Management: Learning “breathing control” and pacing strategies to help you cope with stairs, washing, and dressing without panic.
- Singing for Lung Health: A unique, evidence-based approach using singing techniques to improve lung volume and posture while boosting mood.
- Anxiety Management: Breathlessness and anxiety often go hand-in-hand. We give you the tools to break the cycle of panic.
Why Treat Lung Conditions at Home?
If you are struggling with your breathing, the last thing you want to do is travel to a clinic. By seeing you at home, we can assess your environment (like potential allergens or stairs) and help you manage your breathing in the place where you spend the most time.
It also means we can help you apply energy conservation techniques to your actual daily routine – like organising your kitchen to reduce reaching and bending.

Can you help if I am on oxygen?
Yes. We are experienced in treating patients on long-term oxygen therapy. We can help you manage your tubing safely and maximise your mobility while on oxygen.
Will the exercises make me more out of breath?
Our goal is to make you less breathless, not more. We start very gently, focusing on breathing control first. Any physical activity is introduced slowly and safely at your own pace.
Do I need a doctor’s referral?
No, you can contact us directly. However, for respiratory conditions, it is often helpful if we can see your latest clinic letter or discharge summary to understand your medical history fully.
