My Approach to Care
“I believe in working in unity with my clients and their families/carers. My approach is holistic and caring, focused on achieving your meaningful goals, optimising function, and improving your quality of life and independence.”
Why Choose Home Visits?
Recovering in your own environment is often more effective than visiting a clinic. We eliminate the stress of travel and waiting rooms, allowing us to assess your mobility where it matters most—safely in your own home. This approach is central to Medella’s mission of helping older adults regain independence without the hassle of hospital appointments.
Background and Experience
Catherine graduated from Brunel University in 2004 and has worked in both the NHS and private sectors for over 20 years. Her early career in London covered a broad spectrum of physiotherapy, including elderly care, respiratory, musculoskeletal outpatients, paediatrics, orthopaedics, community rehabilitation, and neurology. She later moved to Poole Hospital, undertaking senior rotations in elderly care, respiratory, trauma orthopaedics, and oncology.
In 2009, Catherine joined the Macmillan Unit in Christchurch, where she worked for 11 years specialising in oncology, palliative care, and complex neurological conditions such as Motor Neurone Disease (MND). Working across the inpatient unit, day centre, and community settings in East Dorset, she developed deep expertise in managing lymphoedema, fatigue, breathlessness, and anxiety within cancer care.
More recently, Catherine has expanded her practice to work with children and young adults with profound learning disabilities, cerebral palsy, and rare genetic disorders. Alongside her work with Medella, she continues to treat patients at a local private hospital following orthopaedic, spinal, and surgical procedures.
