My Approach to Care

“I believe in providing empathetic and sensitive care, drawing on nearly two decades of professional experience. My goal is to support you through what can be difficult, life-changing situations, helping you to live as fully and independently as possible.”

Why Choose Home Visits?

Recovering in your own environment is often more effective than visiting a clinic. We eliminate the stress of travel and waiting rooms, allowing us to assess your mobility where it matters most—safely in your own home. This approach is central to Medella’s mission of helping older adults regain independence without the hassle of hospital appointments.

Background and Experience

Having qualified nearly 20 years ago, Jo has gained a huge amount of experience across diverse clinical settings, including orthopaedics, stroke and neuro rehabilitation, elderly rehabilitation, and falls prevention. She also spent significant time working within a long-term conditions community team.

The majority of her career has been dedicated to working with the elderly, and she is passionately committed to offering the best possible service for older people who wish to remain safe and active in their own homes.

Clinical Expertise & NHS Work

Jo continues to work for the NHS within an acute assessment unit. In this role, she provides a holistic, rapid screening and assessment service designed to prevent unnecessary hospital admissions.

This acute experience allows her to expertly plan and implement treatment programmes with a sound, up-to-date knowledge of Moving and Handling skills. She is particularly confident in demonstrating specialist equipment in a patient’s home to support families and carers, ensuring everyone feels safe and supported.
