Seena Thomas is a highly experienced and compassionate physiotherapist with over 20 years of clinical expertise in both acute hospital and community care settings. Known for her broad clinical knowledge, patient-centred approach, and gentle yet effective techniques, Seena helps individuals of all ages—especially older adults—restore function, confidence, and independence.

After graduating with a degree in Physiotherapy in 2005, Seena began her career in a busy acute multispecialty hospital overseas. She worked with complex caseloads including medical, respiratory, neurological, and orthopaedic patients, applying evidence-based practice and advanced clinical reasoning to deliver safe and effective care.

In 2009, she earned a Master’s degree in Applied Physiotherapy from Sheffield Hallam University. She then joined Torbay Hospital, South Devon, as a junior rotational physiotherapist, gaining hands-on experience and training.

In 2013, Seena joined the Royal Bournemouth Hospital as a Senior Physiotherapist, where she worked across ITU, AMU, and various medical and surgical wards, deepening her expertise in acute care and complex patient rehabilitation.

From 2016 to 2020, Seena served with the Solent NHS Trust’s Urgent Response Service, delivering urgent, community-based physiotherapy to prevent hospital admissions and support recovery in the home environment.

From 2020 to 2022, she worked with the Christchurch Integrated Community Rehabilitation Team (Dorset Healthcare NHS Trust), specialising in falls management, post-operative recovery, and elderly rehabilitation.

In 2022, she advanced to Team Lead for the Community Therapy Team across Bournemouth, Poole, and Christchurch, where she managed multidisciplinary staff, led service development, and ensured high-quality, integrated care.

In August 2024, Seena transitioned from the NHS to pursue her passion for community-based, personalised physiotherapy. She now works as an independent community physiotherapist with Medella Home Physio & OT, offering high-quality, home-based rehabilitation services focused on:

  • Falls prevention and recovery
  • Geriatric and elderly rehabilitation
  • Post-surgical rehab (e.g. joint replacements, fracture recovery)
  • Musculoskeletal pain and mobility issues
  • Long-term condition management

Seena continues to stay connected to wider healthcare services by taking on occasional bank shifts for the NHS and Nuffield Health Hospital.

Committed to lifelong learning, she regularly participates in advanced training, conferences, and clinical development to ensure her practice is evidence-based and up to date.

Outside of her professional life, Seena is passionate about travel, whether it’s exploring new places with family or catching up with friends on an adventure. She enjoys working out, going on long walks and hikes, and brings a positive, energetic outlook to everything she does—both personally and professionally. Her balanced lifestyle reflects her belief in holistic well-being and active living, values she also encourages in her patients.

Seena is passionate about the transformative power of physiotherapy. Her approach integrates education, therapeutic exercise, manual therapy, and reassurance—empowering patients to take charge of their recovery and quality of life.
