Jo Hardcastle is a dedicated and experienced healthcare professional with over 24 years of practical experience as a physiotherapist. Since graduating, Jo has held various roles in both the NHS and private practice in both clinical and leadership roles which has allowed her to gain experience in treating a wide range of pathologies and injuries from post-operative patients, orthopaedic patients, management of frailty and elderly care, rapid response for patients in health crises, neurological patients, and chronic conditions.  In each role she has consistently demonstrated a strong commitment to patient-centred care and improving patient outcomes.

Jo is an empathetic therapist who listens to patients and has a passion for working together with them to achieve their goals. She believes physiotherapy should be holistic and in her clinical approach looks to treat the whole person and not just the injury/problem in front of her. Everyone is assessed individually, and she uses a combination of hands-on treatment and rehabilitation during her treatment sessions, hoping to educate and empower patients to understand and work to resolve their problems, and how to avoid injury and issues in the future.

Jo’s commitment to continuous professional development is evident from her extensive training, including the Advanced Practitioner Frailty Masterclass and keeping herself updated with advances in physiotherapy practice. She has currently undertaken the first year of an MSc in Advanced Clinical Practice at Bournemouth University, further enhancing her clinical expertise in assessment, diagnosis, and treatment of conditions.

Outside of work, Jo loves spending time with her husband and their 4 children and dog, enjoying walks in the New Forest and local beaches. She enjoys keeping herself fit and attending yoga and Pilates classes.
