Helena graduated with a pre-registration Physiotherapy MSc from the University of Essex. Her time as a junior physiotherapist was spent in a rotational role across various NHS departments, including neurological rehabilitation, elderly care, high dependency and intensive care units and outpatients, before she moved to specialise in neurology over ten years ago. She has experience of working with people with neurological conditions in both the private sector and the NHS, including working with patients across the stroke pathway from the “front door” of the hospital to community rehabilitation, neurological outpatients and inpatient rehabilitation. Helena was responsible for setting up exercise classes for people with Parkinson’s after completing her PD Warrior course.

Helena moved to the New Forest in 2021 and joined the inpatient and community stroke rehabilitation team at Lymington Hospital. She also completed a master’s at University College London on Advanced Physiotherapy: Neurophysiotherapy. Alongside her role with Medella, Helena is the course lead for the MSc Physiotherapy programme at the University of Portsmouth. She enjoys inspiring the next generation of physiotherapists.

Helena is passionate about helping people to maximise their potential. She has a strong interest in exercise and supporting people to live healthy lives regardless of their diagnosis or health condition.

Outside of work, Helena enjoys being with her young family, being outdoors and keeping active. You can often find her in the CrossFit gym or running (very slowly) in the forest.
