Home Physiotherapy & OT: Helping Your Loved One Regain Independence
Arranging care for a family member can feel overwhelming, but you’re in the right place. We specialise in providing compassionate and expert physiotherapy and occupational therapy in the comfort of your loved one’s home. Our goal is simple: to help them regain strength, improve mobility, and live as safely and independently as possible.
How Our Home Visits Can Help Your Family
Regain Strength & Confidence
After a fall, illness, or hospital stay, our tailored rehabilitation programmes help rebuild physical strength and, just as importantly, the confidence to move safely around the home.
Improve Safety at Home
Our occupational therapists can assess a home for fall hazards and recommend simple adaptations or equipment, while our physiotherapists focus on improving balance to reduce the risk of future falls.
Manage Long-Term Conditions
We provide specialist support for managing the day-to-day challenges of long-term conditions like arthritis, Parkinson’s, and stroke, helping to maintain quality of life.
How It Works: A Clear and Simple Process
1. The Initial Phone Call
The first step is a confidential phone call to discuss your loved one’s situation. This is your opportunity to ask questions and understand the options, with no pressure or obligation to proceed. This initial phone consultation is always free.
2. The In-Home Assessment
A specialist therapist will visit the home at a convenient time to carry out a thorough and gentle assessment. The most important part of this visit is listening to what you, your loved one, and their main carer hope to achieve, which helps in setting meaningful, practical goals.
3. Tailored Home Therapy Sessions
Therapy takes place in the comfort and privacy of the home. Where appropriate, we involve carers in the sessions, providing guidance that supports the therapy between our visits. Progress is reviewed regularly to ensure the therapy remains effective.
Common Questions from Families
How quickly can you see my parent?
We do not have waiting lists. In most cases, we can arrange an initial telephone consultation immediately and schedule a home visit within a few days of your enquiry.
Do we need a doctor’s referral?
No, you do not need a GP referral to access our services. You can contact us directly. However, if you are using private medical insurance, please check their requirements first.
Are your therapists vetted?
Absolutely. All our therapists are registered with the HCPC (Health & Care Professions Council), are members of the Chartered Society of Physiotherapy (CSP), and hold enhanced DBS (criminal record) checks. We are a safe, professional, and family-run service.
My loved one has Dementia. Can you still help?
Yes. Our team is highly experienced in treating older adults with cognitive impairments, including Dementia and Alzheimer’s. We use a gentle, patient-centred approach and often work with family members present to ensure the therapy is effective and reassuring.
