Yes, all of our therapist roles are self-employed. You’ll be responsible for your own tax, National Insurance, and professional indemnity insurance. In return, you get genuine flexibility over your hours, caseload, and working pattern. We aim to keep your caseload as local to you as possible. Each role has a primary location and surrounding service area, but there’s flexibility — we work with you to build a patch that suits where you live. You can see the typical travel radius for each role on the job listing.

Yes, HCPC registration is an essential requirement for all our therapist roles. Physiotherapists must also be members of the Chartered Society of Physiotherapy (CSP), and occupational therapists must hold RCOT or BAOT membership. The role is subject to an Enhanced DBS check, which Medella will provide. You will also need a valid UK driving licence.

Very flexible. You choose your own hours and caseload, from as few as 4 hours per week up to 30 hours. We typically start low and gradually build up your caseload. Many of our therapists work around other commitments — whether that’s family, further study, or another role. We’re happy to operate 7 days a week, 8am–8pm, as long as it suits both the clinician and the clients — so there’s plenty of scope to fit your schedule.

Yes, a valid UK driving licence and access to your own vehicle are essential. You’ll also need appropriate car insurance that covers business use. All our work is home visits, so you’ll need to travel to patients’ homes, care homes, and residential settings. We reimburse mileage for journeys over 6 miles from your home.
